Efficient and smart technologies focusing on indoor health and well-being – CEN-20091010.<\/p>\n

Period: 2009 – 2012<\/p>\n

The main objective of the CENIT TECNOCAI project was to build knowledge and further develop technologies to achieve an optimal indoor environment. The developments should contribute to achieving the highest possible level of comfort and health for the occupants. Antimicrobial paints based on nanotechnology – IPT-2011-1499900000.<\/p>\n

Period: 2011 – 2013<\/p>\n

The aim of the “APLICONS” project was to develop coatings for the construction and industrial sectors based on nanotechnology with an antimicrobial surface. The aim was to avoid the use of conventional organic biocides and to research new technologies for achieving a functional, antimicrobial surface.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/3″][vc_single_image image=”3379″][vc_column_text]\n

FOODTECH & COATINGS PROJECT<\/h2>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1634107972047{padding-top: 15px !important;}”]\n

Development of alternative film and preservative agents for aqueous coatings – RTC-2014-2020-5.<\/p>\n

Period: 2014 – 2016<\/p>\n

The objective of the FOODTECH & COATINGS PROJECT was the development of alternative preservatives and film protectors for paints and coatings based on active ingredients of natural origin. The microbial efficacy of free and microencapsulated substances from food preservatives was investigated with the aim of using them in water-based paints.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_separator][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/3″][vc_single_image image=”3378″ add_caption=”yes”][vc_column_text]\n

FDA & EU FOOD PAINTS<\/h2>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1634108000812{padding-top: 15px !important;}”]\n

Development of paints and varnishes for direct contact with food according to VO (EU) 10\/2011 and FDA 21 CFR 175.300.<\/p>\n

Period: 2016 – 2019.<\/p>\n

The main objective of the project was the development and certification of paints and varnishes that meet both the European and the US requirements for direct food contact coatings according to Regulation (EU) 10\/2011 and FDA 21 CFR 175.300. The project was carried out in cooperation with the Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico del Pl\u00e1stico de Valencia (AIMPLAS) and successfully completed.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/3″][vc_single_image image=”3382″][vc_column_text]\n

Development of alternative preservatives based on peptides and metabolites.<\/p>\n

Period: 2018 – 2020<\/p>\n

The aim of this project is to further develop the successful FOODTECH & COATINGS project. The technologies evaluated and tested in this project are mainly based on the use of antimicrobial peptides and free and microencapsulated bacterial and microalgal metabolites, with the aim of using them in paints and coatings in the food sector for preservation and film protection.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/3″][vc_single_image image=”3383″][vc_column_text]\n

BIO-HYBRID VARNISHES FOR FOOD CONTACT<\/h2>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1634108057969{padding-top: 15px !important;}”]\n

Replacement of fossil raw materials in food contact paints with plant-based raw materials.<\/p>\n

Period 2020 – 2022.<\/p>\n

The aim of this project is to develop bio-based paints and varnishes in which raw materials of fossil origin are replaced by new raw materials of plant origin and which are at the same time suitable for use in direct contact with foodstuffs in accordance with the requirements of the European Regulation (EU) 10\/2011 and the US American FDA 21 CFR 175.300.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text]
