Hygienic coatings for bakeries
Special features of renovation in bakeries. The requirements for coatings for ceilings and walls in bakeries vary greatly, depending on the size and orientation of the business. When selecting the coating for ceilings and walls, the special regulations of the Food Hygiene Regulation VO (EG) 852/2004 must be observed.
As there are often trolleys with finished or unfinished baked goods in the production rooms, dripping water formation in the ceiling area must be avoided at all costs. A coating that is open to vapour diffusion is suitable for these surfaces.
In the scullery, on the other hand, there is a high steam load. A chemical-resistant, vapour-proof coating with protection against mould and bacteria should be used here.
Important!
The substrate pre-treatment. This means cleaning, substrate remediation and solidification. It must also be checked whether the old coatings are still sustainable or need to be removed. These measures are important to ensure the adhesion of the new coating and to achieve a long-lasting resilient surface.
