What does “FOODGRADE” mean?

There is no binding definition of the term “food grade” in the European legal area.

Food grade is a term, not an organisation or regulation. Food grade is often used in relation to materials in direct contact with food. Food grade stands for the suitability of these materials, which are expected to be “food compatible”. Food grade means that even in the case of direct contact, no critical ingredients can migrate into the food. For this purpose, there are international regulations with positive lists that indicate which substances are permissible for products in direct contact with food. In Europe, Regulation (EU) 10/2011 applies to paints and varnishes. The American standard FDA 21 CFR 175.300 is also frequently applied within Europe. FAKOLITH hygienic coatings tested according to these standards are called FOODGRADE products.

FAKOLITH FOODGRADE products tested according to VO (EU) 10/2011:
FK 45 FOODGRADE, FAKOPUR FOODGRADE, DISPERLITH FOODGRADE

FAKOLITH FOODGRASE products “double” certified according to VO (EU) 10/2011 and FDA 21 CFR 175.300:
FK 100 FOODGRADE, DISPAINT FOODGRADE
